Tip Sheet for MS Standards Based Courses - (Tip Sheet for the older version of Grade Book)

Middle School teachers frequently ask how to reduce the click factor when grading standards based courses. This will help save some time as you are entering grades during school year 2014-2015.

Assignment Marks - (Tip for the older version of Grade Book)

You can create their own assignment marks to check in daily work without having to give it a grade. For standards based courses teachers sometimes create a category called "Homework", "Daily Work" or "In Class Assignments" under the learning skill of Completes Homework

Here is what that might look like in Instruction>>Assignments>>View Tree

Then the teacher will create their own assignment mark by going to Instruction>>Admin>>Assignment Marks and selecting New

Here is an example of a new assignment mark used to grade daily work.

I have also seen Assignment Marks of Yes, NO,  or Plus +, Check /, Minus -

When you create the assignment this is where you are going to assign the new Assignment Mark in Assignment Detail

When you go to score the assignment here is what it would look like with the Assignment Mark applied from the example above.

If you are a MMSD teacher go to our site to view the video and handout on Assignment Marks from Infinite Campus (see image below for locating the links)
